J. Trevor Eyton, O.C.
Non Executive Chairman and Director


Non Executive Chairman and director of Silver Bear. The Honourable J. Trevor Eyton has served as a member of the Senate of Canada since 1990. Between 1979 and 1990, Senator Eyton served as President and CEO and between 1990 and 1998 as Chairman and Senior Chairman of Brascan Ltd. (now known as Brookfield Asset Management Inc). Senator Eyton has also served on the boards of directors of numerous public and private companies, the United States and Europe, including Noranda Inc. Since May 2000, Senator Eyton has served as Chairman and a director of Ivernia Inc. Senator Eyton is also the Chairman of the recently-created Canada-Russia Roundtable, designed to further promote bilateral economic relations. Senator Eyton has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Victoria College, University of Toronto and a Doctor in Jurisprudence degree from the University of Toronto Law School.

 
William J. Biggar
Director


Mr. Biggar is a Corporate Director. From 2004 to 2007 he was Managing Director of Richardson Capital Limited. From 2003 to 2004 Mr. Biggar was President and Chief Executive Officer of MI Developments Inc. and from 2001 to 2003, Executive Vice-President, office of the CEO of Magna International Inc. Prior to that time Mr. Biggar was Executive Vice-President and Chief Financial Officer of Cambridge Shopping Centres Limited from 1999 to 2001 and Senior Vice-President, Investments of Barrick Gold Corporation from 1996 to 1999. Mr. Biggar is a trustee of Primaris Retail REIT and a director of Manitou Capital Corporation. Mr. Biggar became a Chartered Accountant while working at what is now PricewaterhouseCoopers and also holds Bachelor of Commerce and Master of Business Administration degrees from the University of Toronto.

 
Dzhulustan Borisov
Director


Mr. Borisov has been Chairman of the board of National Republic Bank, Moscow since 2001. Prior to that he acted as Deputy Chairman of the board of directors of Sakha Diamond Bank, Moscow and as General Director of AOZT "KFIK", Moscow. He has vast experience in the Russian banking industry and in business in general. He holds a Degree from the Moscow Institute of Economics and Statistics.

 
Pavel Kepezhinskas
Director


Mr. Kepezhinskas also served as the Company's Vice President from 2004 to 2006. Mr. Kepezhinskas is a professional geologist and an independent industry consultant. Mr. Kepezinskas spent several years with the USSR Academy of Sciences before joining the faculty at the Department of Geology, University of South Florida (Tampa, Florida). After finishing his academic career at USF, Mr. Kepezhinskas consulted for private and public companies in the Former Soviet Union, the Baltic States, Africa and Mongolia. He also has been a director of Aurcana Corporation and currently serves as a director of several private companies. Mr. Kepezhinskas has a Ph.D. in geology from the Moscow State University in Russia.

 
Cameron Mingay
Director


Mr. Mingay is a senior partner at Cassels Brock & Blackwell LLP, Barristers and Solicitors in Toronto, Ontario. Mr. Mingay is also a director of Allied Nevada Gold Corp. and the Canadian Paraplegic Association (Ontario). Mr. Mingay has been a director of Silver Bear since May 2007. Mr. Mingay has a Bachelor of Arts degree from York University and an LL.B. from Queen's University.

 
Randall Oliphant
CEO and Director


CEO and director of Silver Bear, has been the Chairman and CEO of Rockcliff Group Limited, a private corporation actively involved with its shareholdings, primarily in the mining sector, including Silver Bear since September 2004. Mr. Oliphant is Chairman of Western Goldfields and is on the Advisory Board of Metalmark Capital LLC (formerly Morgan Stanley Capital Partners). Since October 2007 he has served on the board of directors of WesternZagros Ltd., and most recently joined the board of directors of Franco-Nevada Corporation. Since 2003, Mr. Oliphant has served on the boards of a number of public and private companies and not-for-profit organizations. From March 1999 to February 2003, he was the President and CEO of Barrick Gold Corporation. Mr. Oliphant is a Chartered Accountant and has a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Toronto.

 
Stephen Shefsky
Director


Mr. Shefsky has been the President and CEO of Cancap Investments Limited, a private merchant bank providing venture capital and project financing for private and public companies, since 1985. He is involved in strategic planning and corporate development of its investee companies in the mineral resources sector. From 1996 to August 2007, Mr. Shefsky held the positions of the President and CEO of Verena Minerals Corporation, a minerals exploration company with a focus on precious metal properties in Brazil. He was also Vice President, Corporate Development of the Company from 2004 to September 2007. Mr. Shefsky has served as the Chairman of the board of directors of Regis Resources Inc., an industrial minerals mining company in Ontario, Canada, since 1998. Mr. Shefsky holds a Bachlor of Arts from the University of Toronto, a Master of Science Degree in Urban Planning from Columbia University and a Juris Doctor Degree from Pepperdine University School of Law.

 
Christopher Westdal
Director


Mr. Westdal is a former Canadian diplomat with 21 years of experience in the field, sixteen heading Canadian Embassies, High Commissions and international delegations. Mr. Westdal was Ambassador to Russia (2003 to 2006), the United Nations in Geneva (1999 2003), Ukraine (1995 to 1998), South Africa (1991 to 1993), Bangladesh and Burma (1982 to 1985). Prior assignments abroad included India and Nepal (from 1973 to 1975), responsible for Canadian International Development Agency ("CIDA") programming and Tanzania from 1970 to 1973, as a member of University of Toronto economic advisory team. In Ottawa, he was Director General of the Foreign Ministry's International Organizations Bureau from 1987 to 1991, Assistant Secretary at the Privy Council Office to the Cabinet Committee on Foreign Policy and Defence (1976-78, 1985-87), and CIDA Regional Director of East Africa from 1978 to 1982. Mr. Westdal holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from St. Johns College and a Master in Business Administration from the University of Manitoba.

 
Dominic Gualtieri
Director


Mr. Gualtieri has been Head of Equities and a Managing Director of Alfa-Bank, Russia's largest privately-owned bank, since 2000. He is responsible for the Bank's equity brokerage and distribution through its international offices in London, New York, Kiev and Nicosia as well as for leading the sales and trading teams in Moscow. Prior to joining the Bank, Mr. Gualtieri was Group Managing Director of Franklin Templeton Asset Management in South Africa and previously headed Templeton's Moscow office. Mr. Gualtieri is licensed by the FSFM as an asset manager. Since 2001 he has been a member of the Board of Directors of RTS. Mr. Gualtieri holds an MA in Economics from the University of Toronto and was twice awarded the Simcoe Fellowship for academic achievement.

 
Alexei Mikhailovski

Mr. Mikhailovski has been the CEO of the United Gold Company, the Alfa Group's precious metals mining arm, since 2006. The United Gold Company is a fast-growing company focused on projects in the precious and rare metals sector. The company aims at increasing value and market capitalization of portfolio companies through investments in exploration, development and expansion of facilities. From 2002 to 2006 Mr. Mikhailovski was a Managing Director and Head of Direct Investments of Alrosa Investment Group where his focus was in the mining sector. Prior to that time he spent 5 years with Leucadia International Corporation responsible for identifying, evaluating and executing traded and direct investments in the Russian Federation and CIS. Mr. Mikhailovski graduated from the State Academy of Finance in Moscow with a concentration in International Banking and Finance.
