("Silver Bear" or the "Company") (TSX:SBR) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Derk Hartman as Interim CFO of the Company and Ms. Judith Webster as Corporate Secretary and Investor Relations Manager effective May 15, 2015. The appointments follow the resignations of Ms. Deborah Battiston as CFO and Ms. Brianna Davies as Corporate Secretary.

Mr. Hartman has over 15 years of experience in the banking and mining sectors and has been a founder, officer and director of several public and private companies. Currently, Mr. Hartman is the founder and director of DH Mining Advisory Services Limited, advising public and private mining companies on capital raisings and corporate transactions. Derk was the founder, CEO and director of Sumin Resources, a private gold exploration company, and was a director of Hunter Bay Minerals, a TSX-Venture Exchange listed gold exploration company. Previously, Derk was Director of Investment Banking with BMO Capital Markets in London and Investment Banker and Project Finance Advisor with ABN AMRO Bank in London. Derk has extensive experience with the stock exchange listing process, takeover rules and corporate governance of both the Toronto and London markets. Mr. Hartman holds an MSc Mining Engineering from Delft University of Technology, The Netherlands.

Ms. Webster is a geologist with over 25 years working in the mining industry, of those plus 15 years of investor relations and corporate governance experience. Ms. Webster has held senior level roles as IRO for many publicly listed and dual listed companies namely, AXMIN Inc., Guinor Gold, SAMAX Gold, Pangea Goldfields and Tiomin Resources. Previously, Judith was Senior Account Manager for Barnes Organization, a Canadian IPO and IR Consulting firm, and Senior Geologist for MPH Consulting, a geological and engineering consulting firm. Ms. Webster has extensive experience in corporate communications, stakeholder development, public offerings, private placement financings and corporate governance matters. Ms. Webster holds a BSc. Geology from McMaster University, Canada.
